HOW Mine head coach Philani Ncube is in a cautious mood as the team prepares for the Orange Caf Confederations first round game against St Michel of Seychelles this Saturday.
During training sessions so far, Zimbabwe’s CAF Confederations Cup representatives were in good spirits, hoping to upset their visitors at Barbourfields.
Ncube told Soccer24 “The players are happy. They are confident to pull through the first round with a resounding win. On my part I would say it not easy to have a conclusion. Remember this is our first time in continental competition. It is natural to be uncertain.
“If the players carry the morale to the game, this is what we would need in order to win. I don’t want to underrate St Michel. I have never seen them play.
“Ncube said he is counting on his defence to nod would have to work more on his strikers so that they score as many goals.
“We need to score so that we play the reverse fixture having an advantage. As for the defence, I am not worried because we are strong in that department.
“The outspoken gaffer said he is spoilt for choice this Saturday as competition among players gets tougher by each training day.
“Everyone has a chance. I would not say this and that player has a permanent start. We have a lot of players to choose from.”
