Warriors left back Ocean Mushure is confident that the Warriors will come out tops against Mali in their group D match set for Saturday.
Mushure who was one of the descent performers in the 1-0 defeat to Zambia in the opening match lamented on the need for the team to convert whatever chance that comes their way.
Zimbabwe were punished severely for their several missed chances, with strikers knox Mutizwa and Edmore Chirambadare failing to convert clear-cut chances.
In an interview with the Newsday, Mushure said the team is confident that they will win the match against Mali.
“We are still confident that we can qualify from our group,” Mushure said.
“The defeat to Zambia probably made it a little bit tougher, but we know what we have to do. We have to win our remaining matches, but we are focused firmly on Mali at the moment. A win against Mali would change everything.” He added.
Also expressing confidence was striker and Vice Captain Knox Mutizwa.
“We have to show character and rise again and I believe in this team. I am positive we will win against Mali,” the 23-year-old said.
