Luke Masomere has gone a notch in his self-aggrandisement, now calling himself ‘His Excellency, The Doctor Of Football’ after guiding Manica Diamond into the premiership without a defeat.

Manica totalled a record of 82 points in their maiden season in the Eastern Region Division One League in which they didn’t lose a match.

“A nickname is earned with what you do. After achieving this with Manica Diamond, the fans now call me His Excellency, The Doctor Of Football. I didn’t give myself that nickname, but it’s the fans who gave me,” said Masomere.

“It’s a big record we have set that many teams will find hard to break in the Eastern Region. Even other teams like FC Platinum, Ngezi Platinum Stars didn’t just win promotion into the premiership in their first season in Division One.”

Manica are already planning for an onslaught on the 2019 premier league title, with the club already listed a number of potential acquisitions for next year.
