Harare City will be hoping to defend their Chibuku Super Cup title when they face Triangle in the final of this year’s edition at Gibbo Stadium this afternoon.

The Sunshine Boys who are the most successful team in the tournament’s history have won the cup on two occasions while the Sugar Boys are playing in their first ever final.

United will be banking on the home support and their impressive record at Gibbo where they have been difficult to beat this season. Their coach, Taurai Mangwiro who won the cup with City back in 2015 is expecting a tough battle. He will be hoping to repeat the same feet with the Low Veld side.

“We will need to be at our best to win against the defending champions. They are one of the best teams this year, so we expect a tough fight from them,” Mangwiro said.

On the other hand, Mark Harrison refused to consider history ahead of the clash, saying: “Records mean nothing. At the end of the day, we go into the final, but it’s about winning the game.”

William Manondo who has already scored three goals in this campaign is the man to watch in Harare City’s squad.

Meanwhile, the winner will walk away with a $75 000 cheque and a ticket to represent the country in the Caf Confederations Cup next season.

Kick-off is at 3 pm.
