FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is shifting focus to winning the league after his side crashed out of the 2018 Chibuku Super Cup.
The Zvishavane team lost 4-5 on penalties to Chapungu after the match had ended 2-2 in regulation time. This is the second time Pure Platinum Play got eliminated from the tournament by the Airforce club who beat them in the previous edition.
Speaking to the media after the encounter at Mandava Stadium on Saturday, Mapeza said: “We lost and congratulations to Chapungu for a well-executed game plan.
“We cannot chase two rabbits at the same time, and after this loss, we have to move on to the league.
“We need to remain focused because this is a game of football. You win some and lose some.”
FC Platinum are five points clear on top in league with seven games left. They face Triangle in their next match before playing Dynamos at home. The defending champions also have dates with title rivals Ngezi Platinum Stars and Highlanders in their remaining fixtures.
