Zifa president Philip Chiyangwa’s top ally and key defender Brian Austin Chishanga has been disposed at the Zifa Midlands provincial elections held on Saturday.
Chishanga, the longest ZIFA councillor since 1992, actually chickened out of the elections at the last minute after learning that his rival Pervious Mathe had unanimous support from the electorate.
The fall of Chishanga who has in the past been the leading figure in railroading other councillors to vote for Chiyangwa is seen by analysts as a heavy blow to the incumbent to retain his post.
The ZIFA Presidential election is set to happen on December 1.
