Japan and Senegal
World Cup 2018 Group H
Date: Sunday, 24 June 2018
Kick-off at 17:00 GMT +2
Venue: Yekaterinburg Central Stadium.
Japan and Senegal face off against each other today knowing that the winner of this match will all but ensure qualification to the next round of the World Cup. Here’s our match preview.
Japan stunned Columbia in their opening fixture winning 2-1 and that result means they are in an excellent position to progress from a very tough group. They will need to target at least a point in this game and based on the evidence of their opening match there is no reason why they shouldn’t push for the win.
Senegal appeared to be Africa’s best hopes of progressing deep into this tournament and they were impressive in their opener, beating Poland 2-1. With no easy games in this group they will be eyeing a 3 pointer here to ensure progression to the next round.
These sides met in a friendly International back in 2003 with Senegal winning 1-0.
Senegal to win: 3.26
Japan and Senegal to draw: 2.31
