Zimbabwe International Marvellous Nakamba’s Belgian side Club Brugge last night missed out on a potential cup double despite winning the second leg of the Croky Cup semi-finals 3-2.
Last week’s 4-1 defeat at Standard Liege proved to be their biggest undoing as they eventually succumbed to a 6-4 aggregate loss.
Nakamba featured in the first 69 minutes of the game before being substituted for eventual 3rd scorer Jodie Classie.
Club Brugge are the runaway leaders in the Jupiler League this season, with a 11 point lead on second place Sporting Charleroi with just one loss in their last 11 league games.
Nakamba has been a regular and a darling of the club’s fans. So far, the Zimbabwe international has started in 19 of his 22 appearances of the Brugge 25 league matches helping his side open a 11 point lead over second-placed Sporting Charleroi.
