The Zimbabwe Football Association has dispelled reports that there are fissures within the board.
Addressing a press conference at the ZIFA offices in Harare on Monday, association’s vice president Omega Sibanda blamed the media for trying to foster differences within the executive committee.
“Let me take this opportunity to dismiss the reports going around that there are differences within the ZIFA executive committee. Let me take this opportunity to state that we are united. We are united under our leader Dr Philip Chiyangwa, and we are focused on developing our football,” said Sibanda.
Sibanda was quoted in the media distancing himself from the ill-advised move by ZIFA last week to block Highlanders elections set for the first weekend of February.
