Dynamos star Denver Mukamba and defender Lincoln Zvasiya has been booted out of Dynamos’ team – for allegedly continuously going AWOL as coach Lloyd Mutasa appear to have lost patience with the two.
The two have over the past months been battling in their private lives with Mukamba struggling against drug abuse while Zvasiya has been battling with marital problems which has been making the pair miss training sessions.
Zvasiya missed Dynamos training sessions ahead of their last weekend’s crucial Ngezi tie in which Dynamos lost 2-0 away in Mhondoro. Reports emerged that the player was spotted in Ngezi while Dynamos was playing.
Speaking to the Newsday, an irate Lloyd Mutasa said he was done with the pair’s rowdy behavior.
“They came to the training ground but they didn’t train. We need to talk to them first to see if we can reintegrate them back or not. They can’t just go and come back whenever they want and continue with life as if everything is normal. If we do that we would be sending the wrong message to the youngsters in the team,” Mutasa said.
“We have rules that we expect players to abide by. There are measures that we take if such things happen. So we have asked them to write reports because we want to know their reasons for missing training ahead of such an important match. We can’t give our position before we hear their side of the story, but we won’t take this issue lightly. Their behaviour didn’t only affect us as the technical team, but also the board, the executive and the fans so they will need to explain to the whole institution.”
On Zvasiya’s alleged visit to Ngezi, Mutasa said, “He will give his side of the story and I will also call witnesses to bring forward their evidence.”
Dynamos is hosting Chapungu in a crucial league encounter in which Dynamos need nothing shot of victory in their quest for title challenge.
