Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderai Ndiraya is refusing to get involved in any title talk, claiming his objective is to win matches as they come.
Ngezi beat Hwange 4-1 at the Baobab Stadium on Saturday to move momentarily above FC Platinum by two points at the top of the table.
But instead of conceding that the league title is very much on for his team, Ndiraya told the Newsday that his primary objective is to do better than last season – and to win matches one step at a time.
“This is an open race and we are not taking about that yet because there are still a lot of games to be played. We are only concentrating on what we have control of and what we can control at the moment is the games especially those we play at home,” Ndiraya said.
“We want to try and collect as many points as possible. If we are to harbour any chances of getting the crown, that means we have to be good here at home and away”, he added.
With 15 matches to play, Ngezi lead the standings with 37 points despite playing a game more than second placed FC Platinum who have 35 points.
