CAPS United and Triangle played out a 1-1 draw in a Castle Lager Premiership match at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Triangle had the better start with CAPS United lacking cohesion and taking time to settle.Hillary Bakacheza gave Triangle the lead in the 15th minute with a shot that struck the post before going in.
However CAPS United drew level after an impressive Joel Ngodzo set up Equatorial Guinea youth international Tony who beat Reyners with a curving ball.
The goal was just what CAPS United needed as they increased the tempo after and came close through Ngodzo and Tsipa in quick succession after the goal.
In the 38th minute Tsipa thought he had scored the second when he put the ball into the back of the net but was flagged for offside.
Halftime came with CAPS United having the upper hand.
The second half started with CAPS United still on top and threatening. In the 52nd minute Hardlife Zvirekwi had a good chance but his effort was hit straight into the keeper’s hands.
Seven minutes later Tsipa went even close when he was through on goal ,but his effort hit the post allowing Triangle to recover.
With Triangle reduced to defending the resorted to counter attacks and Pascal Manhanga failed to hit the target in the 74th minute with his effort.
Ten minutes from fulltime Triange’s Muyendi failed to capitalise when Jorum Muchambo missed the ball and left an empty net. Muyendi saw his header go just wide.
That was the real last chance of the game as the teams settled for a 1-1 draw.
The draw allows Triangle to hold onto to 4th spot while CAPS United move into 6th spot.
