The Warriors have qualified for the CHAN 2016 tournament after drawing 1-1 with Lesotho in Maseru this afternoon.
The result gives Zimbabwe a 4-2 aggregate victory over the two legs after winning the first leg 3-1.
Dynamos striker Rodreck Mutuma continued where he left from in the first leg when he scored the opener in the 37th minute.
The Warriors had a good start imposing themselves well and creating chances as they controlled the game.
At halftime Zimbabwe lead 1-0.
Lesotho pulled one back with just under 15 minutes to go via the penalty spot.
Zimbabwe were awarded a penalty with ten minutes to go.
Blessing Moyo stepped up to take the penalty and put the ball into the back of the net but the referee ordered a retake. Moyo’s second attempt saw him shoot over bar.
Despite the minor setback the Warriors got the result that enables them to go through.
Zimbabwe has now qualified for the tournament four consecutive times. Only locally based players participate in the competition.
Rwanda will host the 2016 edition between the 16th of January and 7th of February.
