Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa was impressed with the support his squad received at Barbourfields Stadium yesterday in a CHAN qualifier against Lesotho.
Zimbabwe won the match 3-1 courtesy of a brace by Rodreck Mutuma and a goal by captain Danny Phiri.
Zimbabwe went to halftime with the scoreline still goalless but the Warriors scored three in the second half and Pasuwa feels the fans were key in the win.
The Warriors last played in Bulawayo two years ago and were given a warm reception on their return with a sizeable crowd coming through.
Speaking to the Chronicle after the win Pasuwa said,’Bulawayo has proved that it’s not only Harare that has vocal supporters.
‘I want to salute the crowd, it was marvellous, and even when we were struggling to get goals, they kept urging the boys on.
The win gives Zimbabwe a cushion heading into the reverse leg set for this weekend in Lesotho.
