CAPS United returned to winning ways in style when they hammered Chapungu 4-0 at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
CAPS controlled the game as the first half progressed after Chapungu had threatened to take an early lead.
In the 25th minute the deadlock was broken with Abbas Amidu beat the keeper to slot the ball home after an impressive lob from Ronald Chitiyo.
Halftime came with CAPS United clearly on top restricting Chapungu to play in their own half.
Amidu doubled the lead in the 54th minute hitting his shot first time after a long pass from Carlton Munzambwa.
Six minutes later Chitiyo made it three nil with a well taken bicycle kick from inside the area after an inviting cross from Bamusi.
Dominic Chungwa then came off the bench to wrap up the win the 88th minute striking with his left to hand CAPS United a 4-0 win.
The result moves CAPS United to second place on the table before other Week six matches are played. At Barbourfields Stadium Triangle came back from a goal down to beat Bulawayo City 2-1 to ease the pressure on Tau Mangwiro. It was Triangle’s first league win of the season.
