Highlanders CEO Ndumiso Gumede has blasted the Premier Soccer League over the recently released fines.
The fines have seen the country’s top clubs Dynamos, Highlanders and CAPS United attract the highest figures for various offences such as missile throwing and pitch invasions.
Gumede feels the fines are not just too high but certain clubs have escaped despite having offences
In a letter to the Premier League Gumede says the level of fines are so outrageously detached from the economic situation that it would harm the club and only the PSL would make money out of football.
Gumede also believes Dynamos and FC Platinum were not punished for the actions of their fans, though he did not explicitly mention the two clubs.
Our supporters were assaulted at Mandava said Gumede in his letter to the Psl and to this day one is still in hospital in Bulawayo.
To our surprise the Police did nothing to protect our supporters and the offending club does not appear on your list added Gumede.
In apparent reference to Dynamos’ game against Tsholotsho Gumede said other teams do not gt charged when their supporters clearly identifiable misbehave on away matches with the home team accused of not providing enough security
Gumede’s comments come after Dynamos fans who vandalised the Barbourfields goal post following their 1-1 draw with Tsholotsho.
