CAPS United will have to do without veteran striker Leonard Tsipa for the CAF Champions League after his was not registered for the competition.
Tsipa had been confident of leaving the club after a fruitful 2016 season where he finished as the league top scorer and a Soccer Star of the Year runner up such that the club decided not register him at all.
Speaking on the situation CAPS United head coach Lloyd Chitembwe said, ‘We thought he was not going to be part of us as he was well on his way to Tanzania.
‘By the time the move did not happen and he decided to stay with us the deadline had already passed added Chitembwe.
The blunder has now left CAPS United with limited options upfront ahead of their first match this weekend away to Lesotho side Lioli .
However Chitembwe played down the situation and instead said they had enough arsenal in the squad for the preliminary stages.
If CAPS United go past Lioli over the two legs they will face African giants TP Mazembe in the next round of matches
