The Warriors technical team has trimmed the squad as preparations from AFCON 2017 continued. 

Thirty one players had initially been called into camp with Blessing Moyo ruled out with an injury.

However head coach Callisto Pasuwa indicated they have been forced to trim the squad due to logistical problems.

Tendai Ndlovu, Liberty Chakoroma,Talent Chawapiwa ,Ronald Chitiyo,Tafadzwa Kutinyu are  the players that had been dropped.

Meanwhile Knowledge Musona has now arrived in the country and expected to link up with the rest of the squad today

Earlier Pasuwa had expressed his concern about Musona’s late arrival. ‘On my side, remember I’ve been having problems with days of training sessions said Pasuwa.

‘We are always still assessing some of the players, and until today we had not yet received Musona, and when we are finished we’ll advise Mr. Gwesela (Zifa communications officer) to call everyone for the press conference”, he said.

Musona turned out for KV Oostende on the 26th of December which delayed his departure from Belgium

The final squad of 23 players will be announced tomorrow in time for CAF’s deadline of players submission.
