Dynamos were held to a frustrating draw by As Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo this afternoon at the National Sports stadium in the first round first leg of the CAF Champions league.

Dembare never really threatened in the match and were probably better in the first half where they managed to create some half chances but Washington Pakamisa leading the line for the home team in a 4-5-1 formation was ineffective and just mid-way through the first half fans were already whistling for him.
AS Vita looked very comfortable throughout the match always looking dangerous on the attack and resolute in defence keeping Dynamos out and utilising the off side trap with great success.
The second half started pretty much the first one ended and they changed the formation to a 4-4-2 but that didn’t bring any rewards as the away team was organised and managed to frustrate the home team that clearly lacked ideas.
Simba Sithole was introduced for Cliff Sekete as they tried to push forward for a goal and Ronald Chityo had a great chance to score but wasted the chance.
The lack of a real goal scorer for Dembare was their biggest Achilles heel and they also lacked inspiration from the bench.
Dynamos desperately poured players forward towards the end and with AS Vita employing time wasting tactics the Hararen giants were left frustrated.
With this result the return leg next week in Kinshasa is going to be a tall order for the Zimbabwe champions if they want to go through to the second round.
