Khama Billiat has dismissed the reports that he received $45,000 as sign-on-fee after joining Scottland FC on a free transfer.
Billiat was unveiled by the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newcomers last week.
Following his arrival, reports emerged suggesting that the Warriors international signed a deal with the Mabvaku-based club which included a mega sign-on-fee.
However, in an interview with The Chronicle, Billiat denied the $45,000 claim, adding that his deal is nowhere near the said amount.
He told the publication: “I am not at liberty to divulge the financial terms of my contract with Scottland, but I need to clarify that the US$45 000 figure circulating on social media is baseless.
“My deal is nowhere near that.
“Ordinarily I would have ignored the reports but it creates problems.
“It puts my life in danger because people will be made to believe that I have such amounts of money, and they (criminals) can target me.”
