Japan have named their 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The selection includes Arsenal fullback Takehiro Tomiyasu, Brighton midfielder Kaoru Mitoma and former Liverpool forward Takumi Minamino.
Several Germany-based players also made the squad and they include Ko Itakura (Borussia Monchengladbach), Hiroki Ito (Stuttgart), Maya Yoshida (Schalke), Ao Tanaka (Fortuna Dusseldorf), Daichi Kamada (Eintracht Frankfurt), Takuma Asano (Bochum) and Ritsu Doan (Freiburg).
Japan are in Group E and will face Germany, Canada and Costa Rica.
