The Warriors trio of striker Knox Mutizwa, goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda and midfielder Danny Phiri will go into battle tomorrow when their Golden Arrows side meet Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-final of the Telkom Knockout at the Sugar Ray Stadium.
Interestingly, the last time Steve Komphela’s charges were in action, before the international break, they faced Sundowns in a league game, coming from behind to beat Pitso Mosimane’s men 3-2 through goals from Mutizwa and Phiri.
Tomorrow’s encounter is a whole new dimension however; it’s a cup game which can go either way. Mutizwa will be looking to contiue his goalscoring form, which has seen him being joint top goalscorer in the ABSA Premiership.
Mutizwa has found the back of the net 7 times in the league so far and scored a brace in the game against Masandawana.
The availability of left-back Devine Lunga still remains unknown as the former Chicken Inn man suffered an injury during the Warriors’ preparations for the AFCON qualfier against Botswana.
Kick off is 15:00 hrs and the game will be live on SuperSport 4 and 10 as well as SABC 1.
