CAPS United coach Darlington Dodo has credited his team’s performance to team spirit and “God’s grace”.
The Green Machine have gone for six without a loss, managing to pick 16 points from a possible 21 since Dodo took over in August. They restored their five-point lead on Sunday following a 3-1 victory over Hwange.
“There is team spirit,” said the coach after the game. “There is togetherness, there is harmony, and when you have those things God will always allow the situation to prevail.
“God is smiling on us, which is good for the team.”
Joel Ngodzo gave the hosts an early lead in the 8th minute, converting from the spot following a foul on Phineas Bamusi inside the box. Chipangano secured an equaliser through Enerst Gwatima on minute 27.
United restored the lead on the stroke of half-time through Kelvin Ndebele before the victory was sealed in the 76th minute when Ronald Chitiyo’s shot took a deflection on Felix Chindungwe’s foot on its way to the goal.
