Highlanders coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh has dismissed reports suggesting he no longer wants to work with assistant coach Mandla Mpofu.
de Jongh who took over at the end of last month was said to have identified juniors coach Melusi “Mabaleka” Sibanda as Mpofu’s replacement.
But speaking after the 2-0 victory against TelOne on Sunday, the coach described the rumours as fake.
“People are trying to destabilise our club, we have a united staff, I am happy with everyone in the squad and those reports that I want to make some changes are fake, totally fake,” he said.
The Dutchman has started well at Bosso and is still to lose a match. The Saturday victory was his third in four games he has taken charge.
Brian Banda and Prince Dube were on target as the Bulawayo giants moved into 10th position on the log standings with 35 points.
