The Zimbabwe Football Associaton (ZIFA) says it’s trying to secure a friendly match for the Warriors in the October international break which starts tomorrow.
The national team is set to play Zambia and Botswana in the 2021 Afcon qualifiers next month and a friendly match in the upcoming international break offers an opportunity to fine-tune the squad.
According to ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela, the association is talking to some countries and will only have a clearer picture by today.
“We are talking to some countries so, by tomorrow (today), we should be in a better position to comment,” said Gwesela told the Herald.
However, it seems like its too late to get a fixture at this time considering they should have already secured the release of players two weeks before the FIFA dates as well as airfares.
Botswana will play Egypt this weekend while Zambia secured two friendlies against Niger and Benin.
