FC Platinum blew a chance to reclaim the top position on the log after playing to a goalless draw against Mushowani Stars in a rescheduled league fixture played at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts had a slight edge in the match and created a couple of opportunities which they all wasted.
Their first chance of the game came in the second minute but Lameck Nhamo’s shot went straight into the hands of the keeper. Devon Chafa followed up some moments later and was also denied.
Mushowani only started to attack towards the half-hour mark, but they failed to get a meaningful attempt on goal before the break.
The game became concentrated in the midfield at the start of the second period and goalmouth incidents were few and far between especially in the FC Platinum’s end.
Mushowani, on their side, seemed convinced with a draw as they rarely went forward to attack.
The match ended with no goals scored with the Platinum Boys moving into the second position with 40 points while Mukanyairi remained in the 12th place.
