Alec Mudimu says it was an honour to lead the Warriors team for the first time.
The Wales-based defender wore the arm-band in the World Cup qualifier against Somalia on Thursday.
“It was a huge honour to captain my beloved country for the first time and hopefully for many more to come,” Mudimu said on Twitter after the game.
However, his first dance as the captain didn’t go well as the team lost 1-0 to a side which is ranked third from bottom in the world.
But the 24-year-old still believes they will bounce back in the second leg.
“We have enough quality to bounce back and get that important win we very much need for our nation. So please let’s ask we stick together and continue to encourage and support through out. The best is yet to come.”
The return fixture is scheduled for Tuesday in Harare.
