Former Dynamos, CAPS United and Warriors left-back Cephas Chimedza has criticized ZIFA, the Sports and Recreation Comission and Zimbabwe Olympic Committee for letting the Young Warriors travel to South Africa amid xenophobic attacks.
The Rainbow Nation has over the past few days been marred by violent attacks on foreigners, some leading to loss of life but the Tonderai Ndiraya coached U23 side play their South African counterparts at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto tomorrow.
In justying sending the Young Warriors there, ZIFA claim to have been assured of the squad’s safety by SAFA but Chimedza totally disagrees. He took to microblogging site Twitter to lambast the authorities.
ZOC,SRC,ZIFA should not have let our U23s travel to SA for the match due to what's happening there. This is an @Olympics qualifier and all that's happening there is not in the spirit of Olympics. #NoToXenophobia #Olympicqualifier #Tokyo2020 #Ubuntu
