Six games are lined up this afternoon as the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season reaches the halfway mark.
The encounter between FC Platinum and CAPS United at Mandava Stadium is the headlining game in the round.
The reigning champions are looking to bounce back to winning ways after they slumped in their previous outing. They will again be without coach Norman Mapeza who is still on sick-leave.
Makepekepe, on their side, also suffered a defeat last weekend and will need to put a better show today.
Speaking ahead of the match, coach Lloyd Chitembwe said they have done their homework and will be looking for a positive result this afternoon.
“Of course, we are happy we did a bit of some very good work during the course of the week.
”I thought the response by the boys, over what happened last week, was very good going by what I saw in training.
“It was very encouraging and I think there is no better opportunity to try and correct what happened last week than this game,” said Chitembwe
But this will not come easy considering the hosts’ home record and the fact that they last won at the venue in 2012.
Meanwhile, apart from Phineas Bamusi, who is on national team duty, Chitembwe is expecting to have a full-strength squad for the encounter.
Elsewhere, Dynamos face Triangle United at Rufaro Stadium while Ngezi Platinum host Harare City at Baobab Stadium.
