Warriors midfielder says his new club Stade de Reims which plays in France’s top flight league started scouting him soon after his move to Orlando Pirates in 2016.
The 22-year old revealed this in an interview with South Africa news website IOL.co.za after completing a transfer to the French side two weeks ago.
“It hasn’t been easy journey, but I pushed through to get to where I am now as a player,” Munetsi said. “I am very glad about the progress that I have made. The negotiations were ongoing when the season finished.
“It was just a matter of me having patience and focusing on the national team. I am just glad that Orlando Pirates released me and gave me the opportunity to fulfil my dream.”
“Reims said that they started to look at me when I signed for Pirates. They were monitoring my progress. They followed me when I was at Baroka and then I came back.”
The Zimbabwean was sent on loan to Baroka soon after he signed for Pirates from FC Cape Town.
He returned to his parent club ahead of the 2017/18 season but only made his first appearance in January 2018.
Since then, the 22-year-old became a first team regular, and even went to attract interest from other oversees clubs.
