Brazil forward Neymar has denied an allegation that he raped a woman he met on Instagram.
News that a police report has been filed in São Paulo emerged on Sunday suggesting that the 27-year old PSG star sexually assaulted his accuser at a hotel in Paris.
According to the said police documents, the woman – who has not been named – started talking with Neymar on Instagram before agreeing to travel to France to meet the player.
During the date, Neymar became “aggressive” and engaged in sexual intercourse against the will of the victim.
The woman returned to Brazil two days later but didn’t make a report because she was “emotionally shaken and afraid to register the facts in another country”.
Speaking in a video he posted on Social Media, the star said: “Anyone who knows me knows of my behaviour, knows that I would never do something like that.
“There was a relationship between a man and a woman between four walls.
“On the next day, nothing happened. I hope investigators read the messages and see what happened.”
Neymar’s management also issued a statement rubbishing the allegations, claiming that he is being a victim of blackmail.
PSG are yet to comment on the matter, so is the hotel where it is said to have taken place.
