Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa says he will rotate players at the Cosafa Cup so that everyone that will make it into the final squad for Afcon will be adequately prepared.
Zimbabwe were allowed to register 30 players for the regional tournament and are using the event as part of their preparations for the big stage in Egypt later in the month.
Speaking on SuperSport TV after the 2-0 win over Comoros on Saturday which saw them reaching the semifinals of the Cosafa Cup, Chidzambwa said:
“We will rotate the players in our next games and make sure we give everyone game time so that the whole team will be geared up for Afcon.”
The Warriors dominated the play and created several chances which could have seen them win by a bigger margin but only settled for two first-half goals from Evans Rusike and Khama Billiat.
Rusike opened the scoring in the 6th minute, heading in Tendayi Darikwa’s cross and Billiat made a magnificent tap-in on minute 36 to double the lead.
Despite the missed chances, Chidzambwa was impressed with the whole performance.
“I am very pleased with how the boys performed. They dominated the possession and created more chances, I’m happy with that,” said the coach.
