Club Brugge midfielder Marvelous Nakamba will not play in the Warriors’ opening game at the Cosafa tournament this weekend.
Zimbabwe start their campaign against Group A winners Comoros in the quarterfinal round on Saturday at 5:30 pm.
Nakamba who is among the registered players for the tournament is unavailable for the last 8 round clash as he is set to attend the wedding of his friend and Warriors team-mate Kudakwashe Mahachi on the same day the national team will be in action.
The 25-year-old Belgium-based who has been a friend to the bridegroom since their time at Bantu Rovers is the best man.
“My childhood friend, Marvelous Nakamba, who has since become a member of my family will be my best man,” Mahachi told B-Metro.
The duo will join the rest of the in Durban after the wedding but are now likely to be drafted into the team that will play Nigeria in a friendly match on the 8th of June.
Nakamba, however, can still feature in other games at Cosafa should Zimbabwe manage to go beyond the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, China-based striker Nyasha Mushekwi, goalkeeper George Chigova and midfielder Danny Phiri who have been excluded from the Cosafa squad will also travel with the team to West Africa.
