Tinotenda Kadewere says the Warriors should take inspiration from the Ajax team which recently reached the semi-finals in the Champions League.
The youthful and relatively inexperienced Dutch side beat the Real Madrid and Juventus in the knockout rounds after holding Bayern Munich in the group stage.
Zimbabwe will make their fourth appearance at an Afcon tournament next month and will be hoping to go beyond the first stage for the first time. They are in Group A with the host Egypt, Uganda and DR Congo.
In an interview with H-Metro, Kadewere thinks the Warriors only need to work as a team and will get positive results at the competition set for Egypt next month.
“Looking at the way Ajax played, they played as a team. They were running together and were doing everything as a team,” Kadewere said.
“So for us to achieve that we have to be one also, we have to play as a unit.
“Play as a team and try to stop our opponents together as one and for us to do that we need to have our own advantages against their own disadvantages.
“So we want to work extra hard during our preparations for us to achieve what we want to achieve,” he added.
