Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe reckons that a better tactical approach saw them triumph over Triangle United to go top on the log standings with a game in hand.
Makepekepe who are the only team still to lose a match this season went into the game having last won at Gibbo stadium in 2016.
“It was really hard because it’s not easy going to Gibbo and come out with a win. We had really planned for this match. We wanted an early goal to take control of the match and after that, they were chasing the game. We waited to get them on the counter-attack and we got them,” said Chitembwe.
Caps United got off to a good start in the match with Joel Ngodzo getting the opener early in the match before Simba Makoni equalised for Triangle in the second half.
Dominic Chungwa then grabbed the winner for the visitors with six minute to the clock.
Caps United are now on top with 16 points from six matches and can extend the lead should they beat Chapungu in a re-scheduled fixture in the midweek.
