Warriors goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda could become a free agent very soon as Witbank Spurs are reportedly considering terminating his contract.
The club was recently relegated to the third tier league in South Africa, and according to CEO Freddy Mapulane, there will be a mass clearout as they can’t afford to pay the salaries.
“I think we are releasing the whole team because we can’t pay salaries while we are in the ABC Motsepe League. Even if we do it won’t be that much because there is no grant,” Mapulane told KickOff.com.
“Even if there is money it is too little compared to NFD. The boys that we will try and keep are the local boys that we already have, we will try and talk to them.
“Let’s say may be out of the team five per cent can stay to build on a strong team to compete in the ABC.”
Sibanda arrived at Spurs in January 2018 from CAPS United. He signed a two-year contract which is set to expire at the end of this year.
