Liverpool will miss the services of Mohamed Salah when they host Barcelona in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final clash on Tuesday, coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
The Egyptian suffered a head injury during the Reds’ victory over Newcastle on Saturday after a collision with Martin Dubravka resulting in a concussion. But he is expected to be back at the time the team host Wolverhampton in their final league game of the season.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Klopp said: “It is a concussion and that means he is not allowed to play. He feels OK but it isn’t good enough from a medical point of view.”
Klopp also confirmed that another attacker Roberto Firmino will miss out after failing to recover from a muscle strain.
Liverpool will be looking to overturn a 3-0 deficit suffered in the first leg at Camp Nou.
