CAPS United midfielder could finally make his much-awaited return tomorrow after he was certified fit.
The Green Machine announced on Saturday morning that the 26-year-old is part of the squad that will host Bulawayo Chiefs at National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
“As we prepare for the Bulawayo Chiefs match tomorrow, we would like to announce the return of industrious midfielder Ronald ‘Rooney’ Chitiyo,” reads the statement on Facebook.
“He was certified fit and is one of the changes in our line up tomorrow. One only needs to be at NSS.”
The pint-sized forward was out of action for over a year after sustaining a knee injury which ruled him out for a year. He was hit by a vehicle in Epworth at the beginning of last year and missed the whole season.
Chitiyo successfully underwent knee surgery in Harare in August after some delays which affected his recovery. He started training last month.
