The 2019 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season burst into life on Friday when FC Platinum began their title defence against Harare City.
Action continues this afternoon with four matches lined up and both Dynamos and Highlanders are playing in the capital.
The Glamour Boys were supposed to travel to Mashonaland Central for their opening game but will now clash with Mushowani Stars at Rufaro Stadium. The switch comes after the league debutants were forced to find another alternative base as their home ground in Madziva was deemed unfit for top-flight football.
A number of players are in line to make their league debuts for Dembare today including Congolese star Ngandu Mangala. Returnee and team captain Edward Sadomba is, however, a doubt for this game after receiving a knock at training during the week.
Across the city, Highlanders play Black Rhinos at National Sports Stadium.
Both teams start the campaign in high spirits after receiving sponsorship boost yesterday when NetOne unveiled improved deals for this season.
The last meeting between the two sides ended in 1-0 victory to Rhinos. The army side has also avoided losing at home in the tie since 2013.
New arrivals Prince Dube, Nqobizitha Masuku, Peter Nyirenda and Cleopas Kapupurika could all play today, but Bukhosi Sibanda is a doubt after sustaining an injury.
Elsewhere, Chapungu make a trip to Zvishavane for their opening match at Mandava Stadium against Bulawayo Chiefs. The Air Force club was also forced to shift the base after their home ground, Ascot, was not homologated by Zifa.
Chicken Inn host ZPC Kariba at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo.
