One fan has reportedly died in a stampede outside the National Sports Stadium before the Afcon qualifier between Zimbabwe and Congo Brazzaville.

The tragedy happened when fans clamoured to get inside the stadium before the match started on Sunday afternoon.

Efforts to get confirmation from the police were fruitless as they said that they are not authorised to speak to the media.

The death of this Warriors faithful has overshadowed the country’s celebrations of reaching the Afcon 2019 in style after beating the central Africans 2-0 and finish the campaign on top of Group B.
