Zim players based in S.A round up

Kaizer Chiefs duo of Khama Billiat and Willard Katsande were dropped out of the squad that won 3-2 against Highlands Park over the weekend.

Billiat picked up a knock a week ago which ruled him out of the tie while Katsande’s unavailability was not explained. The 33-year-old midfielder has missed the other match in the previous round.

Defender Teenage Hadebe started in the first XI as one of the three centre-backs but was subbed off at the half time as coach Ernst Middendorp made tactical changes.

On the other hand, Highlands introduced Tendai Ndoro in the 76th minute while goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini was an unused substitute.

Elsewhere, Kudakwashe Mahachi started for Orlando Pirates against Golden Arrows as the winger continue to enjoy some game time following an unfruitful spell which came after his arrival at the club in August.

Mahachi played for ninety minutes before leaving the pitch in the injury time of the game.

Arrows trio of Knox Mutiza, Danny Phiri and Divine Lunga was in the first team for the encounter.

Mutizwa, however, only played for seventy-two minutes while Phiri picked a yellow card during the game.

In the Limpopo Derby Baroka goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze conceded three goals against Polokwane City. His opposite number, George Chigova also failed to keep a clean sheet in City’s 3-1 win.

Rodwell Chinyengetere (Baroka) and Walter Musona (City) played a part in the encounter with striker Charlton Mashumba (City) watching from the bench.

Amazulu’s Talent Chawapiwa, Ovidy Karuru and Butholezwe Ncube featured in the KZN Derby also played over the weekend against Maritzburg United.

SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo guided his charges back to winning ways when they beat Chippa United 1-0.

SuperSport had their three-match winning run in the league put to an end in the previous round. Onismor Bhasera and Evans Rusike played in the encounter with goalkeeper Washington Arubi sitting out as the visitors snatch maximum points at Chippa.

Ronald Pfumbidzai of Bloem Celtic featured the entire minutes in a goalless draw against Sundowns while Matthew Rusike (Cape Town City) and Terrence Dzvukamanja (Bidvest Wits) did not play.
