Talent Chawapiwa says he wants to keep on improving his performance so that he continues to attract interest from the Warriors coach, Sunday Chidzambwa, in future selections.
The 26-year-old recently joined AmaZulu on a three-year-contract from Baroka FC. He has been part of the national team squad for some time now and featured in the last encounter against Liberia in November last year.
“It’s a good feeling when you play for a team that needs you, every player wants to be in a team where he is guaranteed game-time,” Chawapiwa told KickOff.
“I want to make sure my performance improves so I can attract interest from our national coach to select me. It’s everyone’s dream to represent your national team.”
Chawapiwa made his debut for Amazulu on Saturday in 1-0 victory over Cape Town City, coming in as a second-half substitution.
If the winger manages to keep up his performances on the field at his new base, he is likely to form part of the selection that will be seeking at least a draw against Congo next month to book a place at the 2019 Afcon finals.
