FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is happy with the performance of his charges against Orlando Pirates and believes the Saturday’s result was a great way to kick-start the Caf Champions League group stage campaign.
The exciting encounter, played in front of a packed Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo, ended in a goalless draw. This was the first time Pure Platinum Play featured in the group phase of the competition.
“It was a good game of football, the guys really worked very hard and for me as a coach this is really a positive result,” Mapeza said.
“We wanted to win the match though but I am more than happy with a point. There are five games to go at this stage, so we just need to enjoy the ride.”
The Zimbabwe champions are now set to travel to Tunisa for a date against Esperance in Match-day Two on the 18th of this month.
Meanwhile, all Group B teams are now tied on one point after the first round of matches.
