Khama Billiat scored his first hat-trick for Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup, Preliminary round encounter against Zimamota of Zanzibar.
Chiefs won the match 4-0 with Kabelo Mahlasela adding to Billiat’s tally.
The Zimbabwe international opened the scoring with a freekick a few metres from the edge of the box which reached the bottom left corner in the 7th minute. He hit the back of the net again on the half hour, but his strike was disallowed due to an infringement on the keeper.
Nonetheless, Billiat got his second with another grounder from outside the box on the hour. His third goal came thirteen minutes later from the spot after fellow countryman Teenage Hadebe was fouled in the 18-yard.
Billiat did not finish the game as he was subbed off on minute 76.
Meanwhile, Willard Katsande also featured in the encounter.
Elsewhere, Kudakwashe Mahachi returned to the first team and played for 85 minutes in Orlando Pirates’ 5-1 Champions League win over LightStars.
Mahachi could have put his name on the scoresheet but lucky was not on his side as his strike in the second half was disallowed for an offside.
Team-mate Marshal Munetsi also played in the game.
