Rahman Kutsanzira has been ruled out of FC Platinum’s trip to Madagascar in the CAF Champions League next week.
The Zvishavane side who is Zimbabwe’s only representatives in Africa will play Wednesday’s preliminary round encounter against CNaPs without Kutsanzira due to a knee injury. The midfielder had been named in coach Norman Mapeza’s 20-man squad that’s set to depart on Monday.
FC Platinum media liaison officer Chido Chizondo confirmed the development to NewsDay, but could not disclose who would take up his place.
“The squad is going to change. Rahman has an injury, so he will not be travelling, but I am not yet sure who is going to take his place,” she said.
Kutsanzira joins Ali Sadiki and goalkeeper Wallace Magalane, who also failed to make the squad due to injuries.
Meanwhile, FC Platinum is targeting to reach the lucrative group stage after a disappointing campaign last time when they crashed out in preliminaries.
