Orlando Pirates coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has backed his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Giovanni Solinas’ sentiments on Khama Billiat that the winger has the capacity of playing in Europe.
Solinas had described Billiat as the best current player in the ABSA Premiership, and yesterday the Pirates gaffer said the same thing during a press conference as the two teams prepare to clash on Saturday in the Telkom Knockout semi-final.
“As per my respected colleague Giovanni Solinas, we are having Khama Billiat (in the PSL) as one of the players that could play in Europe,” said Micho according to Soccer Laduma.
Billiat could have moved to Europe after the end of his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns in July but reportedly snubbed several offers to play overseas, opting to stay in South Africa by joining Kaizer Chiefs.
He scored in the Soweto Derby last month and was named the best player for September.
