Mamelodi Sundowns forward Anthony Laffor believes there is still a big chance for Liberia to qualify for the 2019 Afcon finals to be held in Cameroon.
The West African country is currently in the 3rd position of the Group G and will face Zimbabwe on Sunday in a must-win encounter.
The Warriors, on the other hand, are currently on top of the group with eight points and they need just a draw to seal their qualification.
In an interview with KickOff.com, Laffor said: “There’s a big chance for us because we play Zimbabwe at home and we just need to win and go to DRC in our last match and get a draw or a win.
“You never know, but for me, we need to keep our feet on the ground and see what happens in the end. I am not going to promise anything, but I believe in the guys because we have a new coach.
The 33-year-old also believes having former footballer George Weah as Liberia’s president will motivate them to beat the Warriors.
“We will see because our new president was a footballer, so I think we are going to beat Zimbabwe because we are going to spend the money now. I am not saying we are going to cheat though, hahaha,” he added.
The match will be played at Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia.
