FC Platinum have clinched the 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with two games left to the end of the season.
A 0-1 victory over Shabanie Mine on Sunday put them in an unassailable lead.
The win, however, did not only provide the Zvishavane side with a championship triumph but also set a new record for the club. Since their promotion to the top-flight football in 2011, Pure Platinum Play have never surpassed 72 points (recorded last season) in a single campaign.
But after the Match-day 32 win, the Norman Mapeza-coached team has reached 74 points for the first time. They have also seen themselves recording their biggest goal difference in the league during the 2018 campaign.
They currently have a difference of +37 goals.
For Mapeza, he has managed to break a four-year jinx by winning back-to-back titles. The last coach to achieve that was former Dynamos mentor, Callisto Pasuwa who clinched the championship in four consecutive seasons from 2011 to 2014.
