Defending champions Harare City are through to the final of the 2018 Chibuku Super Cup following a 2-1 victory over CAPS United in a match played at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
The Sunshine Boys got their goals through Moses Muchenje and William Manondo while the Green Machine’s consolation came from Joel Ngodzo.
City dominated possession in the opening moments and went in front in the 6th minute after Muchenje found space and hit a grounder. Malvin Gaki followed up with two glorious chances including a 30th-minute opportunity which saw him failing to score with only the keeper to beat.
CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe soon made two substitutions before the break, introducing Hardlife Zvirekwi and Kelvin Ndebele in place of Cabby Kamhapa and Charlton Munzwaba respectively.
However, the changes only made the impact in the second period when they controlled the game, forcing City into defensive mode.
William Manondo, nonetheless, doubled the lead on the 69th minute against the flow of play.
Ngodzo pulled one back with four minutes to full-time, but it was too late to save the day for Makepekepe.
