Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa thinks captain Knowledge Musona’s red card nearly cost them a victory against DR Congo on Saturday.
Musona was expelled in the 74th minute for a second bookable offence, a few moments after he had doubled the lead. Ronald Pfumbidzai scored the other goal while the hosts got the consolation through Yannick Bolasie.
According to Goal.com, Chidzambwa believes the match wasn’t easy for them, and they are now looking forward to the reverse fixture tomorrow.
“The game wasn’t easy at all especially when Knowledge Musona got a red card, it got worse. We panicked towards the end,” the coach said.
“Instead of keeping possession we were just kicking the ball forward, and as a result, we put ourselves under pressure. But the good thing is we got the three points. We have to try and manage the home leg and try to produce a good result as well.”
The return leg is set for National Sports Stadium in Harare and kick-off time is 7 pm.
